Question 856267: Using heron's formula, with sides 7,8, and 13 in long, find the length of the altitude upon the longest side.
I know you get 7+8+13/2 = 14. 14(14-7)(14-8)(14-13) or 14(7)(6)(1)= square root 588. However, I am stuck after setting root 588 equal to base (13) times height (x) / 2. Can you please help?

so the area is 24.29
a=1/2b*h
1/2b=6.5
24.29/6.5=3.74
