I need a formula or method so I can solve for varying degrees such as 11 degrees, 15 derees, 18 degrees, etc.

Hi,

other leg being  adjacent to the angle

 tan(x) = opp/adj 

tan(10) = 8/adj

 adj = 8/tan(10)
