Opposite side of a triangle = adjacent side is 2x, hypotenuse is 6x. What is x and how do I work this through?
-------------------------
Assuming the triangle is a right triangle,
use Pythagoras to solve for "x":
(6x)^2 = (sqrt(96))^2 + (2x)^2
--------
36x^2 - 4x^2 = 96
32x^2 = 96
x^2 = 3
x = sqrt(3)
