Question 841753: A triangle has a perimeter of 21cm. What are its dimensions if the length of the second side is 1cm more than the length of the first and the third side is twice as long as the first. I'm confused. Can you please help me with this question? thanks
SOLUTION
Let the 1st side b x,
2nd side =x+1
3rd side =2x
x+x+1+2x=21
4x+1=21,4x=20,x=20/4
x=5.
Therefore sides are:
5,6 and 10.
