find area of a ideal triangle 3x4x5

The formula for the area of a triangle is

      = base×altitude

A 3-4-5 triangle is a right triangle because it
satisfies the Pythagorean theorem:

a² + b² = c²
3² + 4² = 5²
 9 + 16 = 25
     25 = 25

So the base is b which is 3, and the altitude is a which is 4.

Substituting into the formula for the area:

        A = ×base×altitude
        A = ×3×4
        A = ×12
        A = 6 square units
