Question 792256: ONE ANGLE OF A TRIANGLE IS THREE TIMES AS LARGE AS ANOTHER.THE MEASURE OF THE THIRD ANGLE IS 40 DEGREES MORE THAN THAT OF THE SMALLEST ANGLE FIND THE MEASURE OF EACH ANGLE.
Answer by waynest(281) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
angle 1 = x
angle 2 = 3x
angle 3 = x + 40
angles 1 + 2 + 3 = 180
x + 3x + (x + 40) = 180
5x + 40 = 180
5x + 40 -40 = 180 - 40
5x = 140
5x/5 = 140/5
x = 28
check:
28 + 3(28) + (28 + 40) = 180
28 + 84 + 68 = 180
180 = 180
