Question 768864: Sketch a right triangle corresponding to
sin(theta)=5/6
Use Pythagorean Theorem to determine the third side and then find the
tan(theta).
Thank you so much!!

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Sketch a right triangle corresponding to
sin(theta)=5/6
Use Pythagorean Theorem to determine the third side and then find the
tan(theta).
------
sin = y/r
So, y = 5 and r = 6
-----
Therefore x = sqrt[6^2-5^2] = sqrt(11)
----
Ans: tan = y/x = 5/sqrt(11) = (5/11)sqrt(11)
