Question 764214: the length of the base of an isosceles triangle is 37cm. each base angle is 49 degree Celsius. find the length of each congruent side

Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A line is drawn from mid point of
the base up to the apex of the triangle.
This gives two right angled triangles
Base = 37/2 = 18.5cm
Base angle = 49 degrees (Given)
To find the length of the hypotenuse:-
Cos = Adjacent/Hypotenuse
Cos (49) = 18.5/Hypotenuse
Hypotenuse = 18.5/cos(49)
Hypotenuse = 28.2cm
This is the size of the two congruent sides.
Hope this helps.
