Question 761049: find the length of altitude of an equilateral triangle of side 36 cm each?
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Drawing an altitude from the middle of one
of the sides of the equilateral triangle to a
vertex creates a right angled triangle.
Base = 36/2 = 18 cm
Hypotenuse = 36cm
36^2 - 18^2 = altitude^2
Altitude^2 = 972
Altitude = 31.2 (1 decimal place)
Hope this helps.
