The spotlight is 20 feet from the position that Howard plans to set the pole. At what angle with the ground must the spotlight be set so that it shines on the flag when it is at the top of the pole?

We use some trig here to get the angle of the spotlight with the ground
note that we are given a right triangle with 25' for the side represented by the flag pole and 20' for the side represented by the distance from the flag pole where the spotlight is located......so
the tangent of the angle for the spotlight is 25/20 or 1.25 and
the angle whose tangent is 1.25 is 51 degrees which is the answer
