The base angles of an isosceles triangle are equal.
Let b = measure of the base angle. Since the sum of the angles is 180 degrees we have
(1) b + b + 36 = 180 or
(2) 2*b = 180 - 36 or
(3) 2*b = 144 or
(4) b = 72
Check this.
Is ( 72 + 72 + 36 = 180)?
Is ( 5*36 = 180)?
Is (180 = 180)? Yes
Answer: The base angles are 72 degrees.
PS You don't need the length of the sides.
