Question 714148:
The perimeter of a triangle is 51 cm. if the longest side is 7 cm longer than the shortest and the remaining side is 2 cm longer than the shorter side equation

Answer by checkley79(3341)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
PERIMETER=S+R+L
L=S+7
R=S+2
51=S+S+2+2+7
51=3S+9
51-9=3S
42=3S
S=42/3
S=14 ANS. FOR THE SHORTEST SIDE.
L=14+7=21 ANS. FOR THE LONGEST SIDE.
R=14+2=16 ANS. FOR THE REMAINING SIDE.
PROOF:
51=14+21+16
51=51
