Question 679037: one side of a triangle is four less than twice the shortest side. the third side is six more than the shortest side. find the measure of each side if the perimeter of a triangle is 32m.
Answer by rm29924(97) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let X = the shortest side
the second side = 2X-4
the third side = X+6
To get the perimeter of a triangle you add the three sides.
X+2X-4+X+6=32
4X+2=32
4X+30
X=7.5
plug the answer in to check your work:
X+2X-4+X+6=32
7.5+2(7.5)-4+7.5+6=32
7.5+15-4+7.5+6=32
32=32
