**
let x=length of shortest side
2x-4=length of 2nd side
x+6=length of 3rd side
...
x+2x-4+x+6=34
4x+2=34
4x=32
x=8
2x-4=12
x+6=14
..
length of shortest side=8 m
length of 2nd side=12 m
length of 3rd side=14 m

please help me solve this problem, i can't understand it. One side of a triangle is four less than twice the shortest side. The third side is six more than the shortest side. Find the measure of each side if the perimeter of a triangle is 34 m.
Let length of shortest side be S
Then second side = 2S - 4
Third side = S + 6
Since perimeter = 34m, then: S + 2S - 4 + S + 6 = 34
4S + 2 = 34
4S = 34 - 2
4S = 32
S, or smallest side = , or m
Second side = 2(8) - 4, or m
Third side = 8 + 6, or m
Check to see if the measures of the 3 sides sum to 34 m
