Question 639293: In a triangle, one side is three times as large as the smallest side and the third side is 40 feet more than the smallest side. The perimeter of the triangle is 184 feet. Find the measurement of all three sides.
Answer by aquyu214(10) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
suppose three sides as X,Y,Z
X+Y+Z=184
X to be the smallest one, Z to be the longest one
Z=3X
Y=X+40
Then
X+(X+40)+(3X)=184
5X=144
X=28.8
Y=68.8
Z=86.4
