if the rope attached to the top of the pole was lengthened, it formed an angle
of 60 degrees with the ground, 14ft. from the base of the pole.
What is the height of the pole?
:
We can use the tangent of 60 degrees where:
side opposite = height of the pole
side adjacent = 14 ft
:
tan(60) =
h = 14 * 1.732
h = 24.25 ft is the height of the pole
