the perimeter of an isosceles triangle is p=2a+b. find the numerical value of a if p=10and b=3.
.
Plug in what was given into:
p=2a+b
to get:
10=2a+3
subtracting 3 from both sides:
10-3=2a+3-3
7=2a
divide both sides by 2:
7/2 = (2a)/2
7/2 = a
or
3.5 = a
