Question 591878: Each equal side of an isosceles right triangle is 4 feet long. What is the length of the hypotenuse?
Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let one side = 4^2

Let the other side = 4^2.

Let hypotenuse = (h)^2

4^2 + 4^2 = h^2

16 + 16 = h^2

32 = h^2

Take square root of both sides.

√32 = √h^2

√16 * √2 = h

4√2 = h

The hypotenuse length is 4√2 feet.
