You need to remember your trig ratios. The 30-60-90 with a unit side has sides: 1 (opposite 30), 2 (opposite 90), sqrt(3) (opposite 60). So if 's' is the small side, s/1=8/2 and s=4. Also, if 'l' is the long side, l/sqrt(3)=8/2, and l=4*sqrt(3).
