If there's an isosceles triangle and the hypotenuse is 12, what are the lengths of the two sides? & How do you figure it out?
----
If it's isosceles it has two equal sides.
If it has a hypotenuse it must be a right triangle.
---
Let the equal sides be "x":
Equation:
x^2 + x^2 = 12^2
2x^2 = 144
x^2 = 72
x = 6*sqrt(2)
