Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you have a right triangle.
one angle is equal to 90 degrees.
another angle is equal to x + 37 degrees.
another angle is equal to x + 67 degrees.
the sum of the angles of a triangle must be equal to 180 degrees.
since one of the angles is equal to 90 degrees, that means that the sum of the other 2 angles must be equal to 90 degrees.
your formula is:
x + 37 + x + 67 = 90
combine like terms to get 2x + 104 = 90
subtract 104 from both sides of the equation to get 2x = -14
divide both sides of the equation by 2 to get x = -7
the value of x is -7.
one angle is equal to 90 degree
another angle is equal to 37 - 7 = 30 degrees
another angle is equal to 67 - 7 = 60 degrees
the sum of all the angles is 180 degrees
that's your answer.
x = - 7
