Question 498035: the area of a triangle is 338 square yards. the height og the triangle is four times its base. find the height and base of the triangle.
Answer by cleomenius(959)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
base = x
height = 4x
338 = 1/2 base * height.
338 = 1/2 (x)(4x) = 2x^2
169 = x^2
13 = x. This is our base.
52 = 4x. This is our hight.
1/2 (13)(52) = 338. This does check.
