You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A = x - 5
B = x
C = x + 12
x - 5 + x + x + 12 = 180
3x + 7 = 180
3x = 173.
B = 57.7 degrees
A = 52.7 degrees
C = 69.7 degrees
57.7 + 52.7 + 69.7 = 180.1 degrees, approx 180 degrees with a round off error.

The shortest side of a triangle is 5 inches less than the medium side. The larger size is 12 inches more than the medium size side. If the perimeter is 40 inches, find the size of each side of a triangle.

Let medium side be M
Then shortest side = M - 5
Longest side = M + 12

We can then say that: M + M - 5 + M + 12 = 40, since its perimeter is 40"

3M + 7 = 40

3M = 33

M, or medium side = 33%2F3, or highlight_green%2811%29 inches

S, or shortest side = 11 - 5, or highlight_green%286%29 inches

L, or longest side = 11 + 12, or highlight_green%2823%29 inches
