Question 497817: What is the altitude of a triangle where all sides equal 1 inch?

This would be an equilateral triangle, when you drop an altitude from one vertex to the opposite base you are forming a 30 -60 -90 tringle.
If we let s represent the side, the formula to find the side opposite the 60 degree angle, which is what you are looking for, will be /2 * s.
So if s = one inch, the altitude will be /2 inches.
