Question 486329: A right triangle has a hypotenuse of length 3.00 m, and one of its angles is 26.0°. What are the lengths of the side opposite the 26.0° angle and the side adjacent to the 26.0° angle?
Answer by cleomenius(959)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The sum of the angles is 180, so the third angle will be 64 degrees.
You have the size of the hypotenuse, so you can use the sine function to determine the size of the opposite side to that angle
sine 26 degrees = opp/hypotenuse.
.4383 = opp/hyp
.4383(3.00) = opp = 1.32 meters.
cos 26 degrees = adj/hypotenuse.
.8988(3.00) = adj = 2.7 meters.
