Question 472452: I need to know the length of the hypotenuse of an isosceles triangle with two sides each measuring 2 feet and a 45 degree angle between them. This is the backstop of my horseshoe pit.
IT's been a long, long time since my geometry classes, I'm 68 years old.
Thanks!

Do you mean 45 degs between the 2 equal sides? If so,
the 3rd side is 2*2*sin(22.5) =~ 1.53 ft
------------
If you mean the two short sides are 2 ft and the angle between them is 90 degs,
then the hypotenuse is 2*sqrt(2) =~ 2.828 feet.
