Use the converse of the Pythagorean Theorem: If the sides of triangle satisfy a%5E2+%2B+b%5E2+=+c%5E2, where c is the longest side, then the sides are that of a right triangle.
Incidentally, 6%5E2+%2B+8%5E2+=+36+%2B+64+=+100+=+10%5E2, the triangle is a right triangle.
