Question 453018: I have a right triangle with 90 deg, 50 deg and 40 deg angles. The length of leg "a" is 1.5748" runs between the 90 deg and 40 deg angles. What are the lengths of:
Leg "b" between the 90 deg and 50 deg angles?
Leg "c" between the 50 deg and 40 deg angles, the hypotenuse?
Thank you for your help.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I have a right triangle with C = 90 deg, A = 50 deg and B = 40 deg angles.
The length of leg "a" is 1.5748" runs between the 90 deg and 40 deg angles
and is opposite angle A.
What are the lengths of:
Leg "b" between the 90 deg and 50 deg angles and is opposite B?
Leg "c" between the 50 deg and 40 deg angles, the hypotenuse?
----
Using Law of Sines:
b/sin(40) = 1.5748/sin(50)
---
b = [sin(40)/sin(50)]*1.5748 = 1.3214
====================
c = sqrt[a^2 + b^2]
