The area of a triangle is
A = 0.5bh
where b = base and h = height (or altitude). Let's plug in what you are given.
80 = 0.5(16)(h)
80 = 8h
Since 8h = 80, h = 10. So, the height (or altitude) is 10.

A= 1/3bh solve for h : A*2/b
80*2/16 = h
160/16= h
h=10
The altitude of the triangle is 10feet.
