let the sides of isosceles triangle be x, (x + 6) and (x + 6). The perimeter of triangle is given as 42
so
x + (x + 6) + (x + 6) = 42
3x + 12 = 42
3x = 30
x =10
sides of triangle are 10, 16, 16
