Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this is my problem: if the dimensions of a 3-4-5 right triangle is increased 50 percent by what percentage is the area incresed?
---------------------
Area of the 3-4-5 is (1/2)*3*4 = 6 sq. units
----
New area: (3+1.5)(4+2) = 4.5*6 = 27 sq units
---
%age ?
Quantity increase 27-6 = 21
---
% increase: 21/6 = 7/2 = 3.5 = 350%
