i have a triangle ABC a= 2x+5 b= 3x-7 C= x+38
By pythagorean formula
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
(2x+5)^2 + (3x-7)^2 = (x+38)^2
4x^2+20x+25 +9x^2-42x+49 = x^2+76x+1444
combine like terms
12x^2 -98x - 1370 = 0
solve using quadratic formula
x = [98 +/- (98^2 -4(12)(-1370))^.5/24
x = [98 +/1 (75,364)^.5]24
x = (98 +/- 274.5)/24
x = 15.52
The value of x = 15.52
a = 2(15.52) +5 = 36.04
b = 3(15.52)-7 = 39.56
c = 15.52+38=53.52
