3 times width = 3w
12 longer = 3w+12
length = 3w+12
..
perimeter = 2*(L+W)
2*(w+3w+12)=168
2*(4w+12)=168
/2
4w+12= 84
-12
4w= 84-12
4w=72
/4
w-18 feet..... the width
length = 3w+12
= 3*18+12
=54+12
=66 feet
