10%2B%283%2F6%29P=P
10%2B%281%2F2%29P=P

Let P = perimeter


So P = a+b+c.


Since "one side is 10 inches", we know that a=10.


Because "another side is 1/3 of the perimeter", we know that b=%281%2F3%29P=P%2F3


Finally, since "the third side is 1/6 of the perimeter", so c=%281%2F6%29P=P%2F6


So this means that P=10%2BP%2F3%2BP%2F6. Let me know if this helps.

Question states the following to be true:
Let S%5B1%5D+=+%281%2F3%29%2AP and S%5B2%5D=+%281%2F6%29%2AP
Note: 1/3 = 2/6
S%5B1%5D%2BS%5B2%5D=+%283%2F6%29%2AP *That leaves 1/2 of the Perimeter for S%5B3%5D which is 10" long
