Hello,
Use Pythagorean Formula to solve this which is a^2+b^2=c^2 where c is the hypotenuse. Plug in the numbers to get:
x^2+sq rt 13^2=7^2 Rewritten as:
x^2+13=49 Subtract 13 from both sides to get:
x^2=36 Sq rt both sides to get"
x=6
There we go. One side is 6.
Make sense?
