if the base of a triangle is 8x + 16 and the height is 1/(x+2) what is the area of the triangle?

Area of the triable is
Area = (base*height)/2 so in this case:
Area = [(8x+16)*(1/(x+2)]/2 =
(8x+16)/[2*(x+2)] = [8*(x+2)]/[2*(x+2)] = 4
