Question 250333: Sorry, but I do have one more question.
Use the given information to draw a right triangle. Use trigonometric ratios and a calculator to find the unknown sides and angles. Round off sides and angles to the same number of decimal places as the given sides and angles.
a = 11.0 and c = 25.0
Now, 11.0 is on the opposite side and 25.0 is the hypotenuse. I was able to calculate that one angle is 26.1 degrees. I also came up with 22.5 as my adjacent side and 33.9 degrees for my other angle. It marked the 22.5 and the 33.9 as incorrect. To come up with 22.5, I did the following: 11.0/26.1 tan = and came up with 22.45; for 33.9, I subtracted 26.1 from 60 degrees. Please tell me where I went wrong. Thanks very much.

Use the given information to draw a right triangle.
Use trigonometric ratios and a calculator to find the unknown sides and angles.
Round off sides and angles to the same number of decimal places as the given sides and angles.
a = 11.0 and c = 25.0
:
Let me try it and compare to what you get:
Find angle a using the sine (side opposite/hypotenuse)
sin(A) =
A = 26.1 degrees (which is what you got)
:
we can find the 3rd angle (B)
180 - 90 - 26.1 = 63.9 degrees:
:
Find side b using tan(26.1)
tan(26.1) =
.48989 =
b =
b = 22.45
:
We have
A = 26.1 degrees
B = 63.9 degrees
Sides
a = 11
b = 22.45
c = 25
:
You should have subtracted 26.1 from 90 not 60, otherwise you were OK
