Question 248243: if x is the first of three consecutive odd integers, express the sum of the first odd integer and the second odd integers as an algebraic expression containing the variable x? simplify the answer

let x=the first odd integer
the next integer x+1 will be even so the next odd will be x+2
x+x+2=2x+2=2(x+1)
curiously the question didn't say anything about including the third integer which would be x+4.
so x+x+2+x+4=3x+6=3(x+2) for the three odd integers.
BTW It would be the same for even integers
