DON'T KNOW IF THESE ARE RIGHT TRIANGLES OR NOT SO I'LL ASSUME THE WORST CASE THAT THEY ARE NOT.
(5+5+8)/2=18/2=9 WHICH IS THE S VALUE USED IN THE FOLLOWING FORMULA:
AREA=SQRT[S(S-A)(S-B)(S-C)]
AREA=SQRT[9(9-5)(9-5)(9-8)]
AREA=SQRT[9*4*4*1]
AREA=SQRT[144]
AREA=12 ANSWER FOR THE FIRST TRIANGLE.
----------------------------------------------
(5+5+6)/2=16/2=8
AREA=SQRT[8(8-5)(8-5)(8-6)]
AREA=SQRT[8*3*3*2]
AREA=SQRT[144]
AREA=12 ANSWER FOR THE SECOND TRIANGLE.
------------------------------------------------
LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE THE SAME AREA.
