Sum of the interior angles measures must be 180 degrees. The two base angles have the same measure;

Solve and then evaluate x+5.

.
Each of the two base angles has the measure of = = 72.5° degrees = 72 degrees and 30 minutes = 72° 30'.

It is based on two facts:

    a) the sum of a triangle interior angles is 180°, and

    b) in isosceles triangle the base angles are congruent.

Aside notice:   If one base angle is  (x+5)  degrees,  then the other base angle has  THE SAME  degree measure of  (x+5).

The formulation in your post is slightly illogical / (allogical).
