Question 1126855: For the pair of vectors, find U + V, U − V, and 4U + 3V.
U = 4i, V = −6j
U + V =

U − V =

4U + 3V =

.
Learn and memorize these simple rules:

1. To multiply the vector ai + bj by the scalar "c", multiply by "c" every component:

    c*(ai + bj) = (ac)i + (bc)j.

2. To add the vectors (ai + bj) and (ci + dj) , add coefficients at co-named components:

    (ai + bj)  and  (ci + dj) = (a+c)i + (b+d)j.

Now you know EVERYTHING what you need to do all these assignments on your own.

It is as simple as 2 x 2 = 4.
