one side of triangle is one-third the longest side.
the third side is 8 feet less than the longest side.
the perimeter is 62. find all three sides
:
let s = the longest side
then s = one side
and
(s-8) = the third side
:
p = 62, therefore
s + s + (s-8) = 62
get rid of the fraction multiply eq by 3
3s + s + 3(s-8) = 3*62
4s + 3s - 24 = 185
7s = 186 + 24
7s = 210
s = 210/7
s = 30
I'll let your find the other two sides, ensure that they add up to 62
