Question 1083219: Find the measure of angle Y.
circle with points W, X, Y and Z, angle WXZ measures 5 x minus 6 degrees and angle WYZ measures 2 x plus 12 degrees

.
The angles WXZ and WYZ are inscribed angles to the circle, and they leaning on the same arc WZ.

So these angles are congruent (the measure of each angle is half of the measure of the arc).

It gives you an equation

5x - 6 = 2x + 12,

3x = 12 + 6  --->  3x = 18  --->  x =  = 6.

Answer.  x is 6 degrees.
