in the first triangle the picture shows the letter x at the bottom of the triangle where the vertical and horizontal meet is a 90 degree angle and the hypotenuse X+3
in the second triangle the picture is flipped upside down the hypotenuse shows 3y and the vertical line Y+1 and a 90 degree angle where the vertical line and horizontal lines meet.

Both are Right Triangles.
The one using x:
One leg is x and hypotenuse is x+3;
Other leg found using Pythagorean Theorem Formula.
