Question:
Solve algebraically these simultaneous equations.
x^2 + y^2 = 17
y = x + 3
I have rearranged to make; x^2 + x^2 + 6x - 8
but how do I remove one of the x^2's so I can put the equation into brackets and solve?

Question 413567: Hello this is my problem, I am a student in algebra 1, Introductory and Intermidiate algebra.
Find an equationof the line containing the point (6,9) 9x+y=8
I have to find slope first, which I am confused about finding for this problem. So y=-9x+8 slope is 1/9 i got help with that and I do not get it.
y-y1=m(x-x1)
y-9=1/9(x-6)
y-9=1/9x-54+9
y=1/9x+63 I already know this is not correct but I cannot figure out these types of problems. Please help thank you so much!

Question 416285: I am suppose to solve the following solution of the following system of linear equations by graphing. It asks that I give the solution in an ordered pair.
4x-3y=15
-3y=-4x+15, I divided all by -3 and came up w/ y=4/3x+5, my ordered pair is (0,5) & (3,4)
the second equation is: x+y=2 (I had more problems w/ this one) my answer is y=-1x+2, my ordered pair is (0,2) & (-1,-1). When I graphed them they came out not quite parallel, but not touching.
