Question 177792: Can you help me solve this problem {{n/n-3 + n = 7n-18/n-3}}?
I know that you will need to use n-3 as a common denominator, but once i have done that i come out with {{n+n^2-3n=7n-18}}. On my teachers answer sheet it says the answer is suppose to be 6 but how is that possible?

: It takes Akira 10 minutes to make a black and white drawing and 25 minutes for a color drawing. On Saturday he made a total of 9 drawings in 2 hours. Write and solve a system og equations to determine how many drawings of each type akira made.
So do you need in the equation that it takes 2.5 times more to make a color drawing? What I don't get is how to make the variables. And to slove this equation do you solve it by using elmination or by substitution?This question is from textbook Holt Algebra 1

Here is an example
The measures of complimentary angles have a sum of 90 degrees. Angle A and B are complimentary, and their measures have a difference of 20 degrees. What are the measures of the angles.
I know the answers (35, and 55) but don't know how to set up the equations according to the question.
So please help.
