(1/3)x+(1/3)y=1
multiply equation by 3
x+y=3...........................(1)
(1/3)x-(1/3)y=-(5/3)
multiply equation by 3
x-y = 5........................(2)
add (1) & (2) 2x=8
x=4
plug x
in x+y =3
4+y=3
y=-1
