Question 887784: solve the following systems by using the substitution method showing the work so I understand
6x+12y=5 and -4x-8y=0

Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6x +12y = 5
-4x -8y = 0
solve second equation for x
add 8y to both sides of =
-4x = 8y
divide both sides of = by -4
x = -2y
now substitute for x in first equation
6*(-2y) +12y = 5
-12y +12y = 5
0 = 5
there is no solution for this linear system of equations
