Question 800742: 3x+5y=11, x+3y=13
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 x + 5 y = 11 .............1
1 x + 3 y = 13 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -3
Multiply (2) by 5
-9 x -15 y = -33
5 x + 15 y = 65
Add the two equations
-4 x = 32
/ -4
x = -8
plug x x in (1)
3 x + 5 y = 11
-24 + 5 y = 11
5 y = 11 + 24
5 y = 35
y = 7
x=-8,v=7
