Question 774776: -22 = -8 + 7y what does y equal and can you show how you got your answer.
Answer by sofiyac(983) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-22 = -8 + 7y you have to get y by itself so start by adding 8 to each side of the equal sign (anything you do to one side you must do to the other side)
-22+8=-8+8+7y
-14=7y divide each side by 7 and you get
-2=y
